New Year's Resolutions

New Year’s Resolutions – BAH HUMBUG – The Final 2 of the 5 Revolutions You Should Create in Your Business and Your Life in 2016

Last week I shared some revolutions that will transform my business and personal life this year.  Unlike New Year’s Resolutions that typically last less than 30 days, New Year’s Revolutions act like the flywheel on a bike – they continue to provide forward momentum even when no energy is being applied. So this year, instead of dropping out of the race or pedaling furiously, I want you find the Revolutions that will serve as your flywheel for delivering significant financial results.

Replace push with pull: Have you ever noticed that the more you push a customer for a decision, the more they back away or negotiate for discounts?  Have you ever bombarded them with selling information in your regular communications rather than focusing on serving them?  Over the past year, I developed over 15 complimentary, downloadable resources to support my book, and this one is a perfect example of value-add that I encourage you to take advantage of.  My purpose is to serve readers “beyond the book”, to let them get to know me, to give them great value that will transform their business even if we never work together, and to invite them to access my knowledge, skills, and support if they know they need help to drive a profit increase in 2016.  I pull, rather than push.

And I’ve added variety to better serve my clients. In the old days, I was a one-trick pony with only consulting services to offer.  In the past year I’ve built out the Profit and Growth Academy – a monthly teleseminar program full of value-add learning and action plans suitable for small business budgets on how increase profit margin.  I’ve created a transformative online-learn-by-doing program, ProfitU, so that I can reach out and support business teams with a passion to increase revenues, create quality, innovate, and build a more profitable business, regardless of where they’re located anywhere in the world.  My Revolution in 2016 is to pull rather than push. How will you transform your business so that you can serve your clients with the power of pull vs push?

Build a business that gives back more than it takes:  I’m celebrating 15 years in my consulting practice this year, reflecting on the journey along the way of:

  • Lean years when I invested heavily in the future of my business.
  • Bright shiny object years when I worked on too many projects or with too many coaches or consultants.
  • Workaholic years when I was flat-out, maxed out, and burned out.
  • Years when I was focused and in flow, and loving my business.
  • Abundant years when I’ve worked with amazing clients to help them transform their business, and loved seeing their results
  • And everything in between.

Ever had those years of highs and lows?

At times it felt like my business was taking more out of me than I was seeing in the way of a return in terms of financial and emotional rewards – sound familiar?  Last year I made the big leap to set the stage for the next 15 years of my business by working with a very high-end coach who specializes in working with established speakers, authors, and those who are building online programs. She and her business (a multi-million dollar company that’s on the Inc. Fastest Growing list) are an inspiration, and I no longer have to reinvent the wheel – instead, I’m applying her learnings and expertise to accelerate my own business success.  My Revolution in 2016 is to continue working with her on the advanced aspects of building a business that gives back – not only to me, but this year I’m upping my game to give back to my community.

Who does that for you?  Who inspires you to achieve more, shortens your learning curve, or helps you accelerate your results?  My expertise lies in helping leaders in the manufacturing and service sectors increase profits – by double or more – in less than one year.  If you’ve been working long hours and struggling to get your business to give back more than it takes but you’re still not seeing results, or if you’re simply ready for your next big leap so that you’ll have all the profit you need to fund the growth you want, we should talk about REVOLUTIONS, not resolutions
